Position Overview:
The VP, Corporate Counsel role is critical to Bambee’s continued success and growth. As the company’s sole legal leader, you will provide expert legal guidance, strategic direction, and hands-on execution to safeguard Bambee’s interests and drive its mission forward. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage all aspects of the company’s legal operations, with a primary focus on employment litigation mitigation, aggressive litigation strategy, and corporate law oversight.
You will act as a key facilitator across the company’s legal landscape, ensuring day-to-day legal processes run smoothly while proactively mitigating risks. Your ability to balance pragmatism with intellectual rigor will drive the company’s legal strategy forward. With no direct reports, this role demands a hands-on approach to navigating complex legal challenges, from employment disputes to intellectual property protection, while maintaining a focus on enabling Bambee’s business goals.
This role is not just about managing legal matters; it’s about making sound decisions, leveraging logic, trade-off analysis, and risk assessment to position Bambee for success. You will act as a conduit between the CEO and the operational realities of the business, aligning legal strategy with the company’s broader vision. Your work will play a pivotal role in protecting the company, driving efficiency, and supporting Bambee’s long-term growth trajectory.
Responsibilities:
Employment Litigation & Risk Mitigation (Top Priority)
Develop and execute aggressive legal strategies to defend against frivolous lawsuits and mitigate employment litigation risks.
Partner with HR and leadership to ensure compliance with employment laws while balancing pragmatic operational needs.
Proactively address employment disputes with decisive action, including taking cases to court when necessary.
Draft and review employment policies, contracts, and procedures to reduce exposure to litigation.
Litigation Management
Own all litigation processes, including strategy, preparation, and execution for both offensive and defensive cases.
Oversee relationships with external counsel, ensuring alignment with Bambee’s aggressive and pragmatic approach.
Intellectual Property Protection
Safeguard Bambee’s intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and proprietary technology.
Develop and execute IP strategies to protect innovations and competitive advantages in the tech space.
Corporate & Transactional Law
Manage legal aspects of investor and banker relationships, including covenants, contracts, and compliance.
Support fundraising processes, term sheets, and equity structuring.
Advise on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Business Partner & Legal Strategist
Serve as a key direct report to the CEO and partner with leadership team on legal risks, opportunities, and strategies.
Ensure Bambee’s legal framework aligns with business goals, scaling efficiently while avoiding unnecessary risks.
Qualifications:
- Litigation Expertise:
Proven track record in employment litigation, with a willingness to aggressively defend and fight frivolous lawsuits.
- Employment Law Savvy:
Deep knowledge of employment law, litigation risks, and compliance frameworks.
- Corporate Law Experience:
Familiarity with corporate governance, investor relations, and fundraising processes.
- IP Protection Skills:
Experience protecting intellectual property in a technology-focused environment.
- High Intellectual Horsepower:
Able to quickly master complex legal and business concepts.
- Exceptional Work Ethic:
Thrives in high-demand environments with minimal oversight.

Compensation and Work Environment:
- Compensation:
$140,000 to $170,000 + stock options and full benefits.
- Location:
In-office work in Glendale, CA. Direct reports to the CEO are expected to work in-office 5 days a week. The rest of the staff works in-office 3 days a week.
