Director, UX, Applied AI - Google

Minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.15 years of experience related to product design and development.10 years of experience in a senior role creating strategy and designing products, including experience leading senior teams and experience managing managers.
Preferred qualifications:Experience working collaboratively with senior designers, and executives in product management and engineering.Experience in elevating product craft.Experience making key contributions to innovative, successful products.Strong understanding of AI technologies.Ability to create a culture that nurtures talented UX team members, solves complex design problems, and delivers simple product solutions.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate positions and advocate designs.

Responsibilities Drive a compelling product vision for Applied AI working with Product Management, Engineering, and cross-Google UX teams.Contribute to strategic roadmaps with cross-functional leadership and manage multiple complex schedules to on-time delivery.Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship across a multi-disciplinary organization of Interaction Designers, Researchers, Visual Designers, Prototypers, Writers, and Program Managers.Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders across Apps to drive user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.Foster Google’s culture and product quality principles within the group, while setting new standards in executional and product excellence.
