Job Description
The Director, US Pricing / IRA Strategy leads strategy and analytics in complex US Pricing topics across US Therapeutics. This requires exceptional analytical skills and an ability to synthesize legislative guidance into real world impact (IRA, Co-Pay, 340B, AMP Cap Repeal) across the AbbVie portfolio. This position is often relied upon to explain the financial impact associated with complex issues to various levels of senior management, up to and including the CFO.
Key Responsibilities include:
IRA / Strategic Pricing
+ Lead financial analytics and presentations associated with the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act across the entire US Theraputics portfolio. This portfolio is comprised of ~ 15 key products with varying reimbursement types (Part B, Part D, 340B, Medicaid, Commercial) and access issues across a myriad of competitive therapeutic areas. This requires industry leading knowledge of unique Pricing topics and price types, including AMP, non-FAMP, ASP, BP, and MFP.
+ Lead IRA discussions with senior management up to and including the CFO on an ad hoc basis, as well as during key planning cycles
+ Finance lead in strategic discussions around IRA mitigation / revenue maximization with Business Unit Presidents for key brands
+ Primary finance business partner to VP, IRA.
+ Lead finance efforts to assemble data package submission for IRA negotiation selected products through collaboration with Ops Finance, R&D Finance, Tax, Alliance Management, and Corporate/
+ Partner with Legal, Government Affairs, Market Access Business Insights and other functions in US Pricing to determine impact of changes in state and federal law (AMP Cap Repeal, IRA, federal and state 340B policy)
+ Direct Pricing efforts to partner with Brand and Market Access Marketing to optimize revenue capture associated with brands subject to AMP Cap Repeal.
+ Support Price Forecasting Directors on an ad hoc basis as Pricing subject matter expert to assess brand performance and key finance risks / opportunities
Co-Pay Analytics
+ Establish and lead new team focused on building in-house co-pay forecasting capabilities in support of Co-Pay Center of Excellence, thereby increasing financial accuracy and understanding
+ Direct financial / operational support and thought leadership regarding forecasting for patient assistance programs, including but not limited to, co-pay and voucher programs.
+ Lead finance business partnership with Co-Pay COE in support of Business Unit President(s)
+ Lead financial analytics and presentations for key financial forecasting cycles, including LRP, Plan, and multiples LBEs / Key +/-
PCS
+ Lead harmonization of existing PCS processes / Pricing forecasts previously led by Global Pricing into US Therapeutics Pricing organization
+ Ensure timely development by the team of short and long-term US pricing guidance over the asset lifecycle (e.g. early price range, late stage price potential, pricing corridors and price guidance), in line with the corporate strategy, brand vision, Integrated Access Strategy, and asset value, with smooth transition to launch market access and on-market pricing leads
+ Ensuring effective and timely development of asset indication sequence in close collaboration with the Market Access Strategy TA asset lead and other key partners
+ Collaborate with Market Access Strategy to drive the creation of pre-launch contracting guidance, to mitigate access risks and payer objections.
+ Seek to optimize strategic pricing toolbox by implementing new tools, pricing methodologies and explore innovative novel solutions to pricing challenges
+ Lead business partnership with Patient Access and Affordability Solutions (PAAS) to navigate financial planning cycles and drive operational excellence, as well as integration.
+ Summarize and present complex price information to executive leadership
+ Lead a team of 7 colleagues, including 3 direct reports.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 15+ years of related work experience
+ CPA/MBA preferred.
+ Forecasting and Market Access Finance experience required
+ Ability to synthesize / incorporate new topics to existing and quickly achieve subject matter expertise
+ Experience in leading and motivating a team in a dynamic business environment preferred
+ Experienced Independent thinker who can work cross-functionally
+ Experience supporting GM/VP level in performing planning activities and monitoring financial business results and targets preferred

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $172,000 - $326,500
