Director - Support Services - Presbyterian Healthcare Services

Overview:

Situated near the Texas border and known for its early ties to rock 'n roll, Clovis, New Mexico, is home to Plains Regional Medical Center (PRMC), a not-for-profit hospital with 106 licensed beds that serves the eastern New Mexico and West Texas areas, managed by Presbyterian Healthcare Services and guided by a community-based Board of Trustees.

 

The Director of Support Services plans, directs and organizes the operational, financial and personnel activities of the following departments: Materials Management, Maintenance, Security, Environmental Services, Food Services and Property Management. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree Required 
• Masters Degree Preferred
• Healthcare experience related to food service, facility services and/or health information management. 
• 3-5 years of leadership experience in healthcare. 
• Process improvement experience with an understanding of change management.

 

Responsibilities:

• Plans, supervises, and oversees the work activities of the four Support Services departments.
  
  
• Prepares and submits operational budgets and monthly reports to include statistical data.
  
  
• Performs personnel management functions to include hiring, disciplinary actions, evaluations, etc.
  
  
• Develops and implements department policies and procedures as required by Hospital organization and in compliance with JCAHO, New Mexico State and Federal regulations.
  
  
• Plans training and inservice programs as required for staff to effectively perform their functions.
  
  
• Develops and maintains quality management program for all areas of responsibility.
  
  
• Continuously plans, maintains and adjusts staffing and expense levels according to customer, facility, or departmental needs.
  
  
• Coordinates department staffing within budget. Directs and coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment to include inventory control throughout hospital.
  
  
• Plans and coordinates the accurate and timely delivery of services.
  
  
• Assures preventative maintenance for major hospital equipment.
  
  
• Develops operating goals and coordinates the operational activities required to achieve set goals for each department supervised.
  
  
• Directs and coordinates staff education/inservice as required to meet hospital organization policies and procedures as well as JCAHO regulations.
  
  
• Anticipates and/or responds to operational changes or crisis situations.
