Join our team and bring your best self to the table. #LI-JM2What you will be doingSeeking a strategic and results driven Director - Supply Chain Support to work with all functions of the distribution center to include: VPGM/Directors, Warehouse, Transportation, Maintenance, Sanitation, and replenishment departments. This role is pivotal in optimizing our supply chain processes, lead compliancy effects, ensuring efficient process/product flow and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.The position will support the Southern California Business Unit and can be based in Irvine, CA or Brea, CA.Main responsibilitiesWork closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, replenishment, finance, and customer service, to ensure alignment and optimize supply chain performance.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards. Create programs, train, prepare, and keep teams ready for internal/external inspections. Lead and drive compliancy for the Food Safety Modernization Act and Sanitary Food Transportation Act (FSMA/SFTA), through working closely with the distribution center departments, Corporate Food Safety Personnel and 3rd Party Pest Control.Streamline distribution processes through lean methodology to reduce costs and improve service levels fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to enhance distribution capabilities.Develop and implement distribution strategies aligned with corporate objectives.Communicates with store and division office associates regarding operational issues and impact on them and partners with them on facility visits/training.Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols within distribution operations.Utilize data analytics to monitor distribution performance metrics and drive informed decision-making.Provides VP/GM operational updates and exchange ideas for improvement in operations.Capable of working independently while effectively collaborating with team members.Proactive approach to problem-solving. Walks area of responsibility looking for compliance with programs and improvement of methods.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing distribution team, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment.Ensure continuous training and development opportunities for team members.Adopt additional projects as required or implemented.Indirect people responsibilities:

Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Must have the ability to represent the Company’s interests in negotiations with outside professionals and consultants.Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.Proven experience in distribution management, supply chain operations, or logistics.Working knowledge of retail food store operations preferred.Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Must be able to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.Technical and analytical skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Warehouse Management systems.Requires strong analytical ability to handle organizational/technical duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.Physical Environment:Most work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment. During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc. Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between –20 degrees to 70 degrees. Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas.May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.Position responsibilities require some travel (up to 5%) during the workweek and occasional weekend travel.What is it like at Albertsons?
