- Drive projects through the development process and into financing and handoff to construction
- Conducting negotiations of land leases
- Manage external consultants responsible for plan-sets and designs
- Overseeing project permitting, incentive application, and tax abatement activities
- Collaborating with internal teams such as grid integration, legal, offtake, engineering, construction, operations and government affairs
- Conduct regular site visits throughout the design phase and attend town hearings during permitting
- Overseeing and taking responsibility for project budgets and schedules
- Be, or be willing to become, knowledgeable in dual use solar project development
- Identifying crucial developments and trends that affect the viability of the Company's current and future MA community solar project development pipeline
- Supporting project acquisitions
- Representing the company at regional industry association meetings
- Bachelor's degree (engineering concentration or real estate experience desirable)
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience in energy project development required – preferably in community or distributed generation scale solar projects.
- Solid understanding of the development process of MA State solar projects
- Ability to deal with local community dynamics, as well as negotiate effectively with landowners and other stakeholders.
- Technical understanding of solar projects
- Excellent project management skills with a highly organized approach
