Job Summary:
The Director of Sales – Powervar will manage the sales team responsible for providing our customers with power quality and uninterrupted power supply solutions which are manufactured by the Powervar brand of AMETEK. The Director must possess both technological and business skills. They will regularly communicate with engineering, OEMs, and end-users. This key member of the sales team must be capable of formulating sales and service strategies that generate profitable revenue growth. The Director should have a high intellect, an inquisitive personality, and a desire to meet and work with people of different business backgrounds. The Director must be willing to travel and be able to meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and attain a robust revenue plan
- Create and implement key sales strategies which achieve business objectives and customer success
- Implement sales management techniques and process improvements that maximize productivity and customer experience
- Lead development and implementation of major account strategies
- Manage all sales resources and ensure resources are in place, both direct and indirect, in all target segments and appropriate territories to ensure adequate market reach / coverage
- Establish and nurture strategic and top-level executive relationships with major OEMs in the key vertical markets
- Expand market penetration in current accounts and execute a plan to grow into new OEM accounts
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
- In conjunction with marketing, develop and manage strategic growth initiatives
In addition to the specific revenue-driving activities described above, the Director of Sales – Powervar will be a key contributor to a number of business units and division level strategic and tactical activities including:
- Strategic planning
- Budgeting
- Organizational design / development and mentoring
- Product planning
- Collection of market intelligence – competitive, product, and market
- Voice of the customer (VOC) data collection and interpretation
- Working closely with the Powervar’s service network to ensure client satisfaction and a “cradle to grave” relationship
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an applications engineer, sales engineer, or sales manager with a minimum of 2 years of additional experience as a sales director or country manager
- Product or industry knowledge in power conditioning or uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
- Consultative selling experience
- Customer relationship management (CRM) system experience
- Experience creating sustainable competitive advantage by fine-tuning channel strategies and attaining high personal performance
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- MBA
- Salesforce experience
- Familiarity with UPS markets, especially in medical, industrial, and retail segments
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Critical thinking skills and a sense of curiosity
- Driven to get results
