Director, Sales Compensation (Compensation Design & Strategy) - Remote - Motive

About the Role:

As the Director of Sales Compensation, you will be the keystone to efficient growth here at Motive.  You will oversee incentive compensation design for our Finance department. In this high impact role, you will work closely with executives and internal functions including Sales, Revenue Operations, Accounting, and HR to ensure our incentive compensation programs drive results. You will also manage a team to help better run our sales compensation on a month to month basis.

What Youll Do:

• Work with sales and finance to develop periodic sales plans
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of commissions on a monthly basis
• Monitor the effectiveness of the plans and periodic SPIFFS that may be implemented
• Track payout performance of plans and provide forecasts of expected payouts

What Were Looking For:

• 7+ years prior experience working with enterprise software sales compensation plans (creation/design)
• Experience leading /managing direct reports within compensation 
• Experience with sales teams geared to different customer segments (SMB to enterprise)
• Successful track record of  designing and implementing sales compensation plans that motivate sales teams to achieve desired outcomes 
• Successful track record of analyzing /measuring compensation/sales plans, benchmarking and making sure right plans are being executed  
• Record of working across various teams to create agreement on plan structures
• Nice to have - experience with sales compensation applications such as CaptivateIQ

Your compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units. The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. Motive uses three geographic zones to determine pay range. For this role, the compensation ranges are:

San Francisco, California

$197,400—$267,000 USD

U.S. metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, San Diego, New York City Area, Seattle, Washington D.C.

$188,000—$254,000 USD

$165,995—$232,235 USD
