Position Summary
The Director of RCM System will provide strategic and operational leadership for revenue cycle hospital and professional applications. The Director will oversee a team consisting of managers and analysts with Epic revenue cycle hospital and professional application experience and lead a multi-disciplinary team in the design, implementation, workflow optimization, change management, support, and issue resolution related to the revenue cycle hospital and professional applications.
Responsible for implementing efficiencies through innovative partnerships, process improvements and redesign, deployment of new technology, and automation. This Director position requires a thorough understanding of revenue cycle operations, billing procedures, compliance regulations, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities
1. Oversees the Revenue Cycle Systems department including design, development, implementation, operation and process improvement.
2. Promotes integration, consolidation, standardization and optimization and presenting it positively to the user community.
3. Provides regular status reports and updates to the Revenue Cycle Vice President.
4. Manages the budget for the assigned cost centers and demonstrates fiduciary accountability.
5. Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Vice President on strategic initiatives, growth and expansion opportunities, and improving patient experiences.
6. Provide organizational knowledge and guidance for Resolute Physician and Resolute Hospital teams to facilitate decisionmaking.
7. Manages daily operations and directs staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
8. Supervises the performance management of assigned staff including hiring, training, evaluation, promotion and termination.
9. Designs improved work systems by revising work standards, policies and procedures.
10. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects and initiatives within the team.
11. Establish and monitor operational processes and workflows to streamline to enhance efficiency and productivity.
12. Implement best practices, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop strategies to achieve operational excellence.
13. Identify skill gaps within the team and develop strategies for filling those gaps. Support employee development through training, mentoring, and coaching. Identify high-potential employees and create succession plans.
14. Partner with other internal teams including but not limited to working with the product development team to define and update workflows and tools.
15. Evaluate and make recommendations for third party tools to enhance revenue cycle operations.
16. Oversee work to enhance the utilization of existing reporting tools and develop new tools to aid the organization in recognizing and maximizing revenue and reimbursement opportunities.
17. Provide data driven insights and actionable information to drive improvement, increase efficiency, and implement best practices.
18. Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to develop monthly revenue reporting.
19. Model and track impact of payor contracts; model and track impact of charge master updates; create recommendations and provide insight into potential changes.
20. Analyze variances to compare actual to expected reimbursement, and benchmarking.
21. Oversee the gathering of operational and workflow requirements to document, implement and monitor workflow processes.
22. Oversee the creation of dashboards with RCM, operations, clinical and financial reporting.
23. Oversee development of standard and ad-hoc reports
24. Oversee the management related to payor web portal access.
25. Identify risks and issues, develop, implement, and measure interventions.
26. Serve as a liaison between the revenue cycle department and internal stakeholders, external auditors, and third-party payers to resolve system issues.
Skill Set Requirement:
Broad revenue cycle operational experience in an Epic organization
Strong analytical skills and can translate complex data into clear action and can communicate it to junior and senior levels of the organization.

Strong presentation skills, including extensive experience presenting and communicating with executives.
Experience defining product strategy or product features related to Revenue Cycle.
Experience building a team, including recruiting and hiring new team members, defining new roles and responsibilities and setting performance standards.
Knowledge of third-party application integrations (supply chain, transcription, productivity tools, general ledger, and other revenue cycle management vendors)
Skills supporting Epic module implementations, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Power BI on a routine basis and will need to be an advanced user of these products.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple, complex projects with high quality results.
Reasoning skills and ability to articulate logic behind decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information to a diverse audience.
Strong planning and delegation skills including ability to develop and cross-train staff.
Solid understanding of Epic and Epic business tools
Minimum Requirements
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics and/or
15+ years related work experience.
3+ years in leadership role related Revenue Cycle financial reporting and analysis in a multi-facility/practice healthcare system
5+ years of experience in hospital/physician billing for in and out-of-network facilities utilizing EPIC.
Required Certification/Registration
EPIC Resolute certification
Preferred Education:
Mastes's Degree and/or 15+ years related work experience.
Epic PB/HB Resolute, Cadence and Prelude certification
Ten plus years of progressive leadership experience within revenue cycle or healthcare information technology
Understanding of revenue cycle management or experience with billing operations preferred
