Overview:The Director is responsible for providing innovative leadership and being a change agent to advance professional practice, innovation, and patient/family/staff/provider experience within Mount Nittany Health’s Medical Center master facilities project(s). This includes establishing partnerships, linkages, and collaboration among key internal and external stakeholders of the organization to meet goals and expectations of the master facilities plan/projects. The Director serves as a facilitator for the shared decision-making process and provides leadership for the translation of innovation and professional standards into evidence based care and facilities design.
The Director, in collaboration with MNH facility project management leadership, is responsible for guiding and overseeing all major MNMC facility projects. The Director’s accountability includes oversight of project vision and goals, program planning, design, stakeholder engagement, project steering committees where applicable and project budgets/timelines in conjunction with MNH facilities project management. The Director collaborates with MNH Executive Leadership and MNH facilities project management to maintain an overall MNMC master plan.
The Director has operational responsibility for the IV team services at MNMC.
Qualifications:MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
1) Bachelor’s degree in a nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required. May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education.
2) Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or equivalent preparation preferred.
Experience:
1) 7+ years of progressive responsibly in healthcare leadership experience preferred.
2) Previous leadership experience of similar scope preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1) Proven leadership skills, highly developed interpersonal skills, refined judgment and a strong record of achievement required.
2) Functions effectively as a liaison among staff, physicians, hospital administration, and ancillary departments.
3) Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude constantly.
4) Consistently demonstrates maturity for accountability or job performance.
License/Certification/Registration:
1) Current PA Registered Nurse licensure.
2) Within three months from the hire/transfer date, completes the Crisis Prevention Institute’s (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training and renews annually.
3) Appropriate professional certification preferred or required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives minimal supervision from the Chief Nursing Officer.
SUPERVISION GIVEN
Supervises the leaders of assigned departments and administrative and support personnel.
