The Director, Product Marketing - Display Advertising will lead Product Marketing for our portfolio of display, native, and video products for advertisers and inspire and manage a team of Product Marketers. The Product Marketing team is responsible for leading the strategic positioning of our products. We deliver successful go-to-market launches by conducting customer analysis, establishing value props, creating and delivering training, and much more. In this role you'll be key to increasing product adoption as the glue between Engineering, Sales, Business Planning, Marketing, and Business Excellence teams. We're looking for someone with experience in and passion for advertising technology to join us in building and giving a voice to innovative solutions for agencies and marketers. This is a key hire to enable Microsoft Advertising to capitalize on an exciting time in our history.

**Analysis of Customer and Market Signals**
+ Leads teams to compile and evaluate market intelligence to identify opportunities and define strategies for customer acquisition, adoption, and renewal of a product and/or solution. Determines areas of market research. Ensures cross-functional teams create deep collaboration and trusting with customers, partners, and the field to understand customer needs and identify investment priorities. Guides teams to design how the team approaches research. Helps teams understand competitor strengths, weaknesses, and Microsoft's competitive positioning; anticipates the business implications and problems solves to reduce risk and ensure that Microsoft is ahead of the market and priority competitors. Shares best practices to develop insights from market or user research, competitive analyses, and market and industry trends to drive Microsoft's Go-to-Market strategies and create a differentiated value proposition. Ensures teams partner with leaders to drive opportunities and risks. Identifies and incubates new opportunities for the business.
**Product Vision and Strategy**
+ Coaches and provides expertise to teams to define the long-term vision and strategy for a product and/or solution in conjunction with senior Software Engineering (SWE) and Business Planning based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and user research, competitive landscape, and Microsoft's business goals and strategy. Starts anticipating future market needs and demands and helps to drive innovation to set-up products for future demands. Knows the roadmap's impact and helps to define the metrics that capture the market and customer engagement opportunity. Ensures teams distill the vision and strategy of the product and/or solution into a product roadmap. Prioritizes investments and resources to execute the vision. Determines the long-term market opportunities and breakthrough features. Anticipates challenges and coaches on solutions to get projects back on track. Teaches and enables the team to resolve internal and external blockers. Engages the industry to drive awareness using product narratives (e.g., at trade shows).
**Value Prop Positioning, Messaging, Bill of Materials (BOM)**
+ Creates and maintains partnerships for the team to develop insights from market or user research, competitive analyses, and market and industry trends. Drives Microsoft's Go-to-Market strategies and creates a differentiated value proposition that aligns with customer goals. Drives the team to identify key customer reasons to buy, retain, and grow, and creates customer messaging within customer teams. Guides the development and framework of messaging and positioning with stakeholders and managers. Coaches the team to deliver thoroughly researched messaging and positioning framework with a broader set of proof points and crisper overall storytelling. Leads the team to consistently use crisp value proposition. Guides the team to create demos to assist Go-to-Market and field teams. Builds value proposition across a set of products bringing them together into industry categories. Creates key selling points, reasons to buy, and customer-facing messaging in collaboration with internal teams. Coaches the team to build global and integrated Bills of Materials (BOMs) while supporting partner teams in the development of partner BOMs. Leads the team to build consumer/partner facing demo plans, product scripts, presentations, and sales materials.
**Go-to-Market**
+ Leads the team to provide expertise when identifying and directing marketing strategies for customer acquisition, adoption, customer love, advocacy, and renewal of a product and/or solution. Leads teams to identify metrics, target customers, define and execute the strategy for the end-to-end customer journey, and create user stories and scenarios to convey the big picture. Creates and leads partnerships with multiple matrixed teams to define and develop Go-to-Market strategies to deliver customer and partner success, resulting in revenue, growth, and share outcomes. Leads team to define success criteria and performance metrics, such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); tracks performance against success metrics and proactively acts on performance. Coaches team to build the strategy and partners to land revenue growth priorities/monetization strategies, plans, and metrics in partnership with Product Management, Sales, and Business Development. Manages and measures collaboration to land these with Sales and channel teams. Builds, manages, optimizes annual Marketing budgets to achieve business goals. Holds teams accountable to develop an engagement plan to interact with customers via various channels (e.g., mix of social, digital, one-to-many experiential activities). Facilitates the planning to build revenue and drives the team to achieve revenue goals.
**Sales Enablement**
+ Leads teams to deliver sales enablement and field support. Drives teams to work on strategic business deals, creates strategic partnerships, and participates in pre-sales meetings with customers. Ensures the team provides coaching, readiness, and in-depth win/loss insights to enable field sellers to win the deal. Facilitates content development to best resonate with customer value. Ensures the team understands what the customer cares about to create new sales opportunities. Identifies new skills or sales structure for a business.
**Product Marketing and Business Performance**
+ Builds and executes marketing plans and strategies to achieve product revenue goals. Leads across the cross-functional matrix as the Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) for product revenue. Understands and provides coaching on the multi-faceted drivers of product revenue and employs a broad array of strategies across the entire market experience (e.g., price, channel, product, promotion) to meet revenue goals and make adjustments where needed to address gaps.
**Cross-Functional Orchestration**
+ Coaches the team to develop partnerships and becomes a trusted advisor (e.g., with Marketing, Partner, Software Engineering [SWE], Design, Services, Sales) to lead and deliver differentiated customer value and company growth. Ensure the team drives initiatives and programs across teams to improve organizational goals. Shares demonstrated best practices to relevant stakeholders to improve product marketing and business performance. Drives impact through other teams.

**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
+ OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).
Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.
