What we're looking for...
The Director, Product Compliance creates, administrates and enforces all policies and procedures for the company to operate in accordance with the regulations that govern the industry and markets served by the Company’s products. Monitors and works in the development of codes, standards and regulations that impact the Company’s products. Serves as primary industry contact/coordinator for all interactions with standards bodies, associations, and regulatory groups relevant to the Company’s business. Participates where appropriate in organizations that develop and manage standards critical to the Company’s business. Manages the process for certification of new products to codes and standards. Maintains certifications of existing products.
Expectations & Accountabilities ...
Analyzes and communicates the impact of any changes in local, state, national, and international regulations and consensus standard organizations that affect the Company’s products. Participates with organizations (PPFA, NSF, IAPMO, ASTM, etc.) that influence product regulatory and standard issues. Stays current on trends in the areas of green building and sustainability and ensures these concepts are incorporated into the corporate practices and product development.
Monitors and advises the company and its customers on state, regional, and international legislative and code issues affecting Oatey products. Participates in industry association activities as a Company representative where appropriate advocating for Company and industry products in model codes and dealing with regulatory issues which impact Company products. Serves as a resource to the Sales and Marketing organizations and for customers directly on code and regulatory issues.
Project management of on-going regulatory projects.
Manages relationships, budget, and technicalities of third party conformity assessment agencies including NSF, IAPMO, CSA, and ASSE for the organization’s product listings.
Interfaces with internal corporate functions to ensure they are educated on the product compliance assist where necessary with resolution of corrective action variances.
Participates in continuous improvement opportunities and related project assignments.
Provide regulatory verification of information on printed labeling, catalogs and other marketing collateral.
Continuously makes improvements for effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction by identifying the best practices and participating in cross-functional continuous improvement project teams.
What you'll need to be successful ...
Extensive knowledge of manufactured product codes, requirements and recognized standards
Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement practices.
Expert level of knowledge of related industry and government regulations and compliance that ensure customer safety and product reliability.
Ability to negotiate effective regulatory compliance contracts and determine scope of work for regulatory projects.
In-depth understanding of project management principles, practices, and tools.
PC Computer Proficient.
Master at being able to manage, work on and track multiple projects at any one time.
Experience leading groups creating code, standard and regulatory language and in meeting with government officials is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry, or Engineering, or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
