An Addison Group client is looking for a Director of Total Rewards and Benefits for their team!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties:
- Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of benefits and compensation programs that align with organizational strategy and long-term HR business goals.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing benefit and compensation policies, making recommendations for plan revisions or the creation of new plans that are cost-effective and aligned with industry trends and organizational objectives.
- Oversee the administration and management of benefit programs, including retirement, life insurance, health insurance, dental plans, flexible spending programs, tuition assistance, absence management, workers' compensation, and other employee benefit offerings.
- Develop a comprehensive total compensation philosophy for the organization, ensuring competitive pay positioning relative to the market and defining the appropriate talent comparison markets.
- Provide compensation expertise to identify issues and implement solutions aimed at engaging and rewarding talent to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Lead participation in compensation surveys, analyze survey responses, assess market competitiveness, and provide guidance on compensation strategies, including financial implications and cost/benefit analysis.
- Manage the development, planning, and implementation of annual salary programs for staff, including market analysis and costing to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness in line with the compensation philosophy.
- Stay current on compensation and benefits trends, best practices, regulatory requirements, and labor laws to provide strategic direction for organization-wide programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to employment and benefits administration.
- Ensure the effective use of the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) to administer and monitor benefits programs.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or directed.
- Hybrid work arrangement available, with 3 days on-site after 90 days of employment.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field, with at least seven years of program management experience in benefits and compensation or a related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- Experience in developing and implementing broad-based compensation programs, including base salary and pay-for-performance structures, benchmarking, market data analysis, and job evaluation.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing a variety of benefit programs, including retirement, life insurance, health, and dental plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for decision-making purposes.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and presenting compensation data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and HR Information Systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing teams to deliver excellent customer service.
- Ability to travel quarterly to off-site locations as needed.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in developing and leading compensation and benefits programs within a higher education environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Ellucian Colleague.
- Certification in CEBS, CCP, PHR, or SHRM-CP is a plus.
