About the Job
The Director of Telehealth and Virtual Access to Care is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Marshall Health Network’s Telehealth and Virtual Access to Care program. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Marshall Health Network (“MHN”). While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, financial management, human resource management, and development of Telehealth services and enhancing access to care through Virtual Access to Care programs utilizing telehealth and virtual technologies. The Director also provides recommendations on the strategic vision for Telehealth and Virtual Access to Care to Marshall Health Network executive leadership and is responsible for implementing approved initiatives. The Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating the activities of Telehealth and Virtual Access to Care across the Marshall Health Network and with external stakeholders and collaborators. The Director is expected to develop and promote telehealth and virtual care services of Marshall Health Network between and among many independent institutions with complex interrelationships, working cooperatively for the mutual benefit of the various stakeholders and constituents. The Director will function as a leader within Marshall Health Network, participating in strategic planning and helping to ensure the efficient operation of the Telehealth and Virtual Access to Care department. This role also serves as the programmatic and operational leader for telehealth and virtual care within Marshall Health Network and reports to the Chief Population Health Officer (“CPHO”) of MHN and works collaboratively with the Medical Director of Telehealth and Virtual Access to Care. Job Requirements: Education Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant subject area such as Business Administration, Health Care Management, Nursing or related field. Preferred: Master’s degree or progress towards a master’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field Work Experience: Minimum: • Five years relevant experience working in a large academic medical center or complex healthcare environment including inpatient and outpatient settings. * Five years relevant experience with clinical healthcare information technology services and/or programs. * Three years’ experience with the management of telehealth services and/or programs, or five years of related experience that includes operational management (or combination) required. Preferred: • Has held administrative position in a large academic or complex health program that included Telehealth services. * Experience supporting systems and/or operations in a 24x7 hospital setting. * Five years progressive experience in healthcare setting * Experience with Cerner and Amwell applications. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Broad knowledge and understanding of the telehealth and virtual access to care environment and factors impacting the practice of clinical medicine through telehealth systems to include: o Regulations and legislation for telemedicine practice at a state and federal level; o Reimbursement standards and guidelines; and o Emerging technologies and related regulations * Broad knowledge of modern health care administration, principles, and practices within a managed care/value-based care environment and/or an academic medical center. * Knowledge and experience regarding managerial accounting for health care organizations and of hospital and clinical operations. * Experience working across program development or operational life cycle of projects. * Experience and exposure to Electronic Medical Record systems, database, and other healthcare technology infrastructures. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts and build teams. * Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and vision for strategic planning. * Ability to operate in high-pressure situations. * Demonstrated innovative approach to problem resolution. * Ability to work collaboratively across entities and disciplines. * Demonstrated commitment to patient- and family centered care. * Effective analytical ability to develop and analyze options, recommend solutions to and solve complex problems and issues. * Demonstrated effective managerial and administrative leadership of clinical operations. * Knowledge of principles and techniques used in negotiation as applied to service contracts and equipment purchasing. * Effective organizational, planning and project management abilities. * Experience in financial and programmatic presentations. * Ability to function independently and deal with multiple, simultaneous projects. * Ability to recognize personal strengths and weaknesses and develop goals for professional growth and achievement. * Ability to lead teams, develop and optimize the skills and talents of team members and experience with personnel administration, including hiring, disciplining and terminating direct Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
