Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Governance - Piper Companies

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Governance to join a well-established insurance company in Newark, NJ. This position hybrid and requires you to be onsite two days/week. The Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Governance will provide technical expertise with innovative problem solving to shape the organization's technology direction.

Responsibilities of the Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Governance:

• Lead and facilitate workshops with executives and senior leaders in the organization to develop strategic roadmaps and investment portfolios.
• Identify and integrate emerging technologies, trends, and best practices to proactively advance capabilities.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts, roadmaps, and technical blueprints.
• Establish, manage and optimize IT governance frameworks including Architecture Review Board and other technology governance efforts. Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks for projects.
• Manage vendor relationships, support RFP/RFQ processes, and assist with contract negotiations.

Qualifications of the Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Governance:

• 15+ years of relevant overall experience in enterprise technology strategy, architecture and governance roles; 5-7 years in leadership.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) and technical infrastructure and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with IT governance and risk management frameworks and standards (ITIL, COBIT)
• Experience in evaluating, selecting emerging technologies, assessing potential impacts and developing adoption strategies
• Experience in developing, supporting RFP/RFI process and working with vendor assessments
• HSD or GED required, Bachelor Degree or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred.

Compensation for the Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture, and Governance:

Salary Range: $160,000-$225,000 (depending on experience)
