Director of Solution Architecture - Syntiant

Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, has entered into an agreement to acquire a large, multi-national sensor business with global revenues in excess of $250 million per year, and is looking for an experienced and talented Director of Solution Architecture.

Position Summary 

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Solution Architecture to lead our team in designing, implementing, and maintaining innovative technology solutions that drive business growth and achieve strategic objectives. This individual will be a trusted advisor to the CIO and senior leadership, with a deep understanding of emerging technologies and a proven ability to translate business needs into elegant and scalable solutions.

A successful candidate will be detailed oriented, have a strong sense of ownership, self-motivated, and work with a high sense of urgency, and have demonstrated prior commercial results. The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well across various functional organizations such as Applications Engineering, Infrastructure and Cyber security teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive enterprise technology architecture roadmap, aligned with business goals and IT strategy.
• Oversee the solution architecture team in defining, designing, and documenting complex technology solutions across diverse domains (specify relevant domains if applicable).
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and requirements, and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
• Evaluate and select the most appropriate technologies, platforms, and cloud solutions (if applicable) for specific business needs.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements.
• Lead solution design workshops and actively manage the solution design lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain architectural standards and best practices.
• Mentor and coach solution architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team.
• Manage vendor relationships with key technology partners.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the architecture remains adaptable and future-proof.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
• Develop and manage the solution architecture budget.
• Lead presentations and discussions on technical solutions and architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in solution architecture, with a proven track record of leading high-impact projects.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing complex technology solutions across various technology domains (cloud, on-premise, hybrid).
• In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in solution architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman Framework).
• Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and their integration into solutions (if applicable).
• Solid grasp of system design principles, scalability, security, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a high-performing team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay.  The starting annual base pay for this role is targeted to be between $215,000 to $250,000; in addition, this role is eligible for our annual incentive plan bonus at 25% of base.  Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
