Licensed Director of Social Services needed for a nursing home located in Far Rockaway, NY

Salary: $95K range; based on experience

Responsibilities of the Director of Social Services-Nursing Home:

• Plans and directs a comprehensive social services program which provides support services for residents and families.
• Responsible for coordinating all admissions and discharges to ensure facility census is kept at its maximum capacity.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team approach to better serve the needs of the facility population.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have prior experience as a Social Worker in a nursing home setting
• Must have LMSW
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies I personnel and the general public.
• Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional staff.
• Must be a self-starter and energetic
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
