We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Permanent Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. This is a high-impact role that will be responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects related to SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial compliance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically in the E&P sector. Familiarity with BOLO software is a significant advantage. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, you will:
1. Oversee the preparation and filing of all external financial reports, including 10-Ks and 10-Qs, in compliance with SEC rules and regulations.
2. Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and ensure that the company’s financial policies and procedures are in line with GAAP.
3. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure the timely completion of audit procedures.
4. Review and analyze complex financial information and transactions and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
5. Manage the company’s technical accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
6. Provide guidance and expertise to the company’s management team on technical accounting matters and potential impacts of new business initiatives and transactions.
7. Oversee the company’s compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting or technical accounting, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
3. Proven experience with SEC reporting, including the preparation and filing of 10-Ks and 10-Qs.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
5. Familiarity with BOLO software.
6. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
