You’ve never seen a hotel like this…We have an amazing opportunity for a pre-opening Director of Sales and Marketing for the Sable at Navy Pier, a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Opening Summer of 2020: 223 guest rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase views of the city’s famed skyline, Lake Michigan and the Pier, 6000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, and uniquely concepted first floor Restaurant and Lounge!
Bringing an excitingly sophisticated new element to the renewed Navy Pier experience, Sable at Navy Pier Chicago, Curio Collection by Hilton offers out-of-town travelers and Chicagoans alike the best in contemporary luxury hospitality, designed with engaging nautical flair and a distinctive salute to the location’s role in WWII naval history. Once a point of take-off for the young navy pilots boldly catapulting their propeller craft off the carrier Sable, The Sable at Navy Pier cleverly embraces its namesake’s heritage and extraordinary location – the home port and doorstep to the greatest city for urbanites and visitors.
We want you to:
Implement all sales and marketing objectives.
Pre-Opening
- Work with General Manager to ensure a successful strategy is in place to deliver budgeted EBITDA
- Create and deliver appropriate marketing strategies for the successful sales & marketing launch and revenue ramp of new hotel.
- Lead Sales and Marketing of the hotel to ensure the revenue and marketing strategy is in place prior to pre-opening and delivered effectively through launch and ramp into successful operation.
- Lead the recruitment process supported by General Manager and Human Resources.
- Provide guidance, training, coaching and leadership sales and event managers to ensure their productivity
- Ensure excellent procedures are implemented within the sales department, in line with Hilton standards and Maverick policies to achieve targeted KPIs.
- Ensure luxury & leisure market accounts are the main focus. As well, ensure wholesale and tour & travel partner organizations both domestic and international are managed effectively.
Post -Opening
· Manage all aspects of the sales and marketing: Provide the strategic vision for maximum hotel sales generation and optimal revenue growth. This position will facilitate training and support to the sales team including business planning, performance tracking, troubleshooting and hands-on engagement.
· Effectively channel your knowledge of the competitive landscape: Assess the effectiveness of company programs to determine optimum revenues using reports and market data, in order to innovate.
· Forge relationships and build rapport: Cultivate, enhance and leverage external and internal relationships to elevate hotel and market share awareness and drive business.

Works cooperatively with others to accomplish business goals and objectives; asks others for their ideas and opinions; supports team's decisions; contributes to the team's efforts. Also partner with the VP of Sales and Marketing and the Corporate Director of Revenue to collaborate rate and revenue maximization.
Experience Required:
- Preference given to candidates with at least 8 years of DOSM Experience
- Recent Hilton experience highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for team work
- Must have complete knowledge and understanding sales systems
- Effective in leadership and mentorship for hotel sales teams
- Passion and commitment to the position at an ownership level
- Must work with integrity and be ethical at all times
- Work well under pressure and meet or beat deadlines
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in full-service hotels and multi property/brand sales oversight
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or related field, is preferred
- Requires some travel
