They are looking to hire a Director of Sales for their San Francisco Bay Area location who has strong experience closing complex sales deals with a strong background in Hardware and Software Sales.

The ideal candidate should have experience selling IoT sensor technologies that incorporate machine learning and edge computing. This role is responsible for the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, by identifying, nurturing, and closing sales opportunities. This role will have targets and quotas assigned.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure alignment and drive successful outcomes. This role has an unusual ability to influence future product roadmap offerings, and will be working frequently with highly technical teams
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, customer meetings, and demos, effectively communicating our value propositions and product positioning
- Develop and implement sales operations processes and best practices to optimize efficiency and productivity. Show steady improvement in sales funnel conversion metrics, reduction of time from PO to revenue, and to have the sophistication to improve our sales operations to maximize purchase orders to cash
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset used to prioritize opportunities and growth
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to the CRO and executive team. This role is highly visible in the industry and will have frequent contact with very large global customers, industry forums, and senior leaders / board members.
- Minimum eight years of experience in managing and closing complex sales programs with advanced hardware and embedded software
- Strong background and understanding of embedded software, edge computing, and IoT systems. Experience with RF systems or components is a plus, as most of our products include radar systems.
- Experience with hardware system sales and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) businesses
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. This role must be able to project a clear and concise vision of our company and to project thought leadership for our team.
- Ability to build and maintain strong positive relationships with key stakeholders. We say, and we do. When we have a problem, we own it and work hard to resolve it.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for driving results.
- Willingness to travel as needed to customers, trade shows, and other business-related events. International travel may be required.
- US Citizenship is required, due to US Federal programs that we are already engaged with
- Engineering or scientific degree required and/or significant experience with highly technical sales & marketing roles. This is a highly technical sales process and requires meaningful project management with customers and internal teams for large complex projects.
