We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead the sales team and oversee all sales activities at our automotive supplier in Shelbyville, IN. Our client is recognized globally for its innovation, quality, and commitment to excellence. With a strong focus on die-cast metal forming and a deep understanding of Japanese culture, the company offers a dynamic and supportive work environment. This Direct Hire role includes strategic sales direction, target setting in consensus with the executive management team, and senior leadership for strategic customer communications. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $180k to $200k, plus a bonus program, with benefits starting on day 1.
Must have:
Experience in a Japanese culture.
Die Cast-Metal forming experience.
General Summary:
Leader for entire sales team and all activities working to meet product pricing and subsequent profit expectations. Leader for sales team training and development. Responsible for strategic sales direction and target setting ensuring consensus with executive management team. Senior leader for strategic customer purchasing organization communications. Reporting out as needed to local executive management team and to parent company in Japan.
Essential Functions:
- Creates most efficient and productive sales team. Leads planning, oversight and follow up for team building, training, development, and goal setting.
- Leads overall strategic sales direction and target setting ensuring consensus with executive management team.
- Sets targets and action expectations for new business awards, customer pricing increases or decreases ensuring consensus with executive management team with follow up.
- Ensure clear direction from sales team to engineering quoting team of customer expectations. Review for approval price quotes with executive management team and ensure quotes are approved prior to customer submission. Challenge sales team to maximize part price above minimum price set in the quote.
- Senior leader for strategic customer communications, ensuring customer satisfaction despite potential difficult conditions and decisions. Able to communicate with customer senior purchasing or engineering management on pricing, or design issues.
- Ensure sales team has time and ability to assist other groups within Ryobi related to production control, finance, warehouse, quality, etc.
- Lead regular forecasting efforts ensuring the most accurate information from customers and marketplace are used.
