Develop and implement a consistent safety and compliance culture throughout all locations to ensure a safe environment for both employees and customers. Emphasize a team approach, coordinating with other departments such as the operations teams, HR, training, and driving individual responsibility to all functional levels of the Company to achieve common Safety and Compliance goals.

What You Will Do:

• Establish, implement, and maintain Cal/OSHA compliant procedures and policies to prevent accidents, injuries and other safety hazards.
• Manage, conduct and review risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace along with developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Represent the Company on safety matter to external stakeholders, including but not limited to, customers, Cal/OSHA, etc. 
• Implement and maintain safety contingency plans for all locations, including but not limited to, fires, spills, emergency response etc.
• Foster a culture of safety responsibility throughout the organization; encourage active participation and engagement from all employees and own monthly safety topics.
• Develop and maintain safety trainings and programs to promote a safe environment for employees, including driving practices, emergency response procedures and compliance with government agencies.
• Find opportunities within that facility that may pose or may cause injuries to both customers and employees, and address them to mitigate risk. 
• Implement and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of safety trainings.
• Investigate accidents and injuries, identify opportunity and implement corrective actions to mitigate risk.
• Travel to all store locations.
• Maintain knowledge of safety regulations, legal requirements, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage safety related legal issues, including the mitigation and administration of claims; represent the Company in any legal hearings regarding accidents and injuries.
• Partner with the Company’s insurance contacts, find trends, and implement solutions to trends to lower MOD rates.
• Analyze workers' compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability claims data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for prevention.
• Lead incident investigations for workplace accidents for both employees and customer’s injuries, and determine root causes and prevent recurrence inclusive of analyzing data, interviewing employees, collaborating with other departments and HR.
• Other duties as assigned by management. 

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as occupational health and safety, engineering, or business administration.
• Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in safety within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Competence in safety management systems, ISO45001, federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• OSHM (Occupational Safety and Health Manager) preferred, but not required.
• Prefer CDS (Certified Director of Safety) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) designation.
• In-depth knowledge of motor carrier safety regulations, including familiarity with FMCSA safety records, DOT, OSHA and related regulations.
