JOB TITLE: Director of Research and Business Development
DEPARTMENT: Sales
Based at Lindsay the Director of Research and Business Development will oversees all aspects of creating new products. This includes everything from initial concept and design to final production, marketing, and sales. The Director of Product Development oversees this entire process and ensures that it runs smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Functions:
• Develops marketings strategies to promote new products in order to gain market share, and work with Marketing Coordinator to disseminate
• Establishes strategic partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, and other industry experts in order to develop new products or improve existing products
• Trains staff on new product development and how to sale to targeted markets
• Creates business cases for new products based on research and
market analysis
• Develops a product roadmap with specific goals and milestones that align with the organization’s strategic objectives
• Manages the development of new products from concepts to
commercialization
• Conducts market research to identify new product opportunities that meet customer needs
• Prepares budgets for product development projects and managing expenses throughout the process
• Ensures that products meet federal and state safety standards,
including those for environmental impact and human health
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field of study (this may vary)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the industrial ingredient industry (this may vary)
- In-depth knowledge of the industrial ingredient industry
- Strategic thinker who also maintains strong attention to detail and delivers with excellence
- High sense of urgency with ability to execute under accelerated time frames and quickly adapts to change in priorities
- Self-motivated and flexible
- Ethical and punctual, fulfilling obligations as promised
- Must be dependable and reliable, following the schedule as set
- Lead by example, provide guidance, motivate and team build with all on-site employees/teams
- Must have a proven ability to problem solve and make quick decisions effecting on-site operations
- Must possess the ability to set and meet deadlines and manage all time of on-site employees
- Must be willing to occasionally travel and work in various cities across the United States
General Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, walking, jogging
- May climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
- Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Hand dexterity to type or handwrite
- Reaches with hands or arms and performs movements such as pulling, pushing
- Ability to speak verbally and raise voice when necessary
- Must have the ability to hear
- Must have adequate vision to see
- Ability to work inside a building or structure
- Ability to work long hours associated with management functions
