About the Job
The Director of Quality will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and excellence in all aspects of our industrial construction projects. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in quality management, process improvement, and a deep understanding of construction industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Establish quality control processes throughout all phases of construction projects, from planning to completion.
- Reviews prime contract and subcontract details of specifications and requirements.
- Assist project teams with preparing project-specific Quality Control Inspection Plans (QCIP).
- Lead a team of quality control managers, inspectors, and coordinators to monitor project quality and performance.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, field engineers, and subcontractors to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze data and metrics to track quality performance and identify trends for continuous improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control processes and best practices.
- Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and external auditors to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality management in construction.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality management within the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, codes, and regulations and ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications.
- Proven track record of implementing quality control processes and driving quality improvements in construction projects.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certifications in quality management are a plus (e.g., ISO, CWP, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using Procore is preferred.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
