Our Billing Co. is seeking a Director of Practice Relations to join our team!
The Director of Practice Relations is an important member of the Our Billing Co. Leadership Team. This individual is responsible for leading strategic priorities and ensuring operational excellence through the oversight of centralized front-end revenue cycle processes, as well as physician practice communication and relationship management at Our Billing Co.
Core responsibilities include oversight of the following teams and/or functions pertinent to practice operations and relations for the enterprise:
· Practice Liaison Team
· Enrollment/Credentialing Team
· Financial Clearance Team
This oversight is required across entities/practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, compliance with regulatory and payer guidelines, and collections in all aspects related to revenue cycle management.
Essential Functions:
Leadership Team Functions:
- Acts as staff resource and role model for ethical, professional conduct; Has the ability to provide guidance on processes within assigned physician practice revenue cycle areas.
- Monitors professional revenue cycle processes and identifies areas in need of improvement.
- Participates in the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training processes of physician practice revenue cycle personnel.
- Evaluates and responds to organizational and patient needs to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Aids in tracking qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators at the physician practice level, as well as conducting root cause analysis to determine the source of performance issues.
- Delegates duties and projects to appropriate staff, and monitors for accurate and prompt completion.
- Stays apprised of all relevant regulations, standards, and directives from regulatory agencies and third- party payer.
- Stays apprised of changing healthcare trends and leverages technology and automation to develop and deliver new products and services to customers.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety policies and procedures, and actively maintains a safe and positive work environment.
- Carries out other assignments or special projects as required.
Role Specific Functions:
- Practice Liaison Team: Develop and leadership over a team of practice liaisons who coordinate between practice management and Revenue Cycle Billing vendor partners on opportunities for process improvements to improve patient financial experience, increase collections, and identify efficiencies.
- Enrollment/Credentialing Team: Development and leadership over a team of credentialing specialists who coordinate between providers and credentialing vendor partner on opportunities to make the process consistent across all entities, identify efficiencies, and improve the credentialing experience.
- Financial Clearance Team: Development and leadership over a centralized team to provide core financial clearance function “services” to practices. For decentralized functions, establish a standard of excellence, metric reporting mechanism, and accountability feedback loop to drive consistent operations and patient experience.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business administration, or a related field or equivalent in experience required.
- Certification through National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) or Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) preferred.
- At least 5 to 7 years in professional or hospital revenue cycle setting required.
- A minimum of 3 years in supervisory or managerial experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of professional revenue cycle processes and related regulatory requirements.
- Practical knowledge of computer applications, electronic health records and practice management systems.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to collaborate with payers, physicians, C-suite leaders, IT, HR and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and effectively communicating complex strategic ideas with all audiences in an organization.
- Self-motivated, versatile, and flexible.
- Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve common organizational goals.
- Strength in applying an analytical approach to a variety of problem-solving scenarios.
- Proficient in making strategic decisions under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven resource management skills, including the ability to effectively manage time, finances, materials/facilities, and personnel.
This will be a hybrid position located in Buffalo, NY.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000
Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to market data, education, experience, qualifications, and expertise of the individual and internal equity considerations.
