Job Title: Director of Payroll (Confidential Search)
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year, plus benefits

Position Overview:
We are conducting a confidential search for a Director of Payroll to join a charter school client in Grand Rapids, MI. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled payroll professional to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting the organization's educational mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including tax filings and year-end documentation.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to school leadership regarding payroll policies and procedures.
• Leverage payroll systems, including Munis and SDS, for efficient operations and reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in payroll management, preferably in the education or public sector.
• Proficiency in payroll systems, with strong preference for candidates familiar with Munis and SDS.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
