Position Overview:
As the External Operations Manager reporting directly to the COO, you will lead a team of five direct reports, each serving as a Team Lead responsible for managing small field teams of up to six service professionals. These Team Leads are crucial to upholding Arrow Pest Control’s high standards of quality and customer care by ensuring safe, seamless service delivery, overseeing comprehensive training, and supporting smooth start-up services for pest, rodent, and termite control. This role is ideal for a leader who values integrity and engagement, enjoys building and guiding teams, and thrives in a hands-on environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire: Cultivate a culture of safety, quality, and pride within the technical team. Encourage each team member to be a true Brand Ambassador and hold them accountable for delivering impactful results.
- Ensure Service Quality: Own all aspects of technical operations to ensure the highest standards of service. Implement quality and safety measures that protect our clients and our team.
- Collaborate for Growth: Work closely with the revenue team to align technical operations with business growth, supporting revenue-generating activities and ensuring consistent, reliable service for our clients.
- Process Optimization & Team Development: Create streamlined, standardized processes to ensure quality and consistency across all service operations. Lead training and development, ensuring all technical staff and Team Leads work safely and effectively.
- Remove Barriers: Identify and resolve obstacles that affect team efficiency or service quality. Drive innovation and continuous improvement, staying true to our Pioneer spirit.
- Grow the Team: As we expand, oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members to build a high-performing, client-focused team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 15+ years of professional experience with a proven record of career growth and impactful contributions.
- 8+ years in operations management, with expertise in operational best practices, quality control, and process improvement.
- 5+ years of direct management experience, including managing both hourly and salaried employees.
- Demonstrated success in Workforce Management, with strong skills in strategic oversight and operational excellence.
- Hands-on experience with all stages of the staffing process, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
- Commitment to embodying Arrow Pest Control’s core values in all responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pest control management with relevant industry certifications (e.g., Associate Certified Entomologist, Certified Pest Control Operator).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) platform or similar strategic planning tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Dedication to delivering top-quality service and upholding high standards of customer satisfaction.
