The Director of Operations plans and implements all Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT); Center for Law & the Human Person (CLHP); and Center for Religious Liberty (CRL) on-campus and off-campus activities, including lectures, panels, symposia, conferences, fellowship programs, and courses. Supervises Project Coordinator with respect to work done by the Project Coordinator in support of the Director of Operations. Supervises CIT, CLHP, and CRL student employees as deemed appropriate by affiliated faculty.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement all on-campus and off-campus activities, including lectures, panels, symposia, conferences, fellowship programs, and courses. Track expenditures to ensure compliance with budgets.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Marketing and Communications, and other departments to execute all events and activities.
• Supervise and coordinate with food, audio/visual, marketing, and other vendors to ensure successful events.
• Coordinate with partners for on- and off-campus co-sponsored events. Be present at all events as deemed appropriate by faculty. This includes several activities in the evening each month.
• Facilitate hosting visits by guest speakers, visiting jurists/scholars, and others.
• Negotiate and supervise all contracts with vendors and partners.
• Supervise and direct Project Coordinator on all tasks relevant to planning and implementing events and activities, including related financial processes for events and for payment of honoraria and stipends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, related experience considered in lieu of degree. 2-3 years of event-planning experience. Highly effective in all Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) plus willingness to learn additional applications. Skills in problem solving. Ability to perform multiple tasks on a daily basis. Attention to detail, good time management skills, and diplomacy and tact.
