Director Of Operations
The Director of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for actively managing all operational activities within the Production facility. The Director of Operations leads by example an employee participative management style along with a continuous improvement lean concept as well as cost reduction activities. The role will play a critical part in ensuring the development, implementation, and execution of processes, optimizing, efficiency, as well as maintaining compliance with industry and organizational regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with executive management to develop and implement strategic plans for the organization.
- Drive operational excellence by aligning processes with business goals supported by a continuous improvement mindset with metrics analysis that highlight performance.
- Oversee production and test processes, resources, allocation, and capacity planning.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources including personnel, equipment, and facilities.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to meet industry standards e.g., AS9100.
- Lead and mentor cross functional teams with a strong affinity of community.
- Manage headcount, drive team goals and objectives, manage training, and team development.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions and lean concepts.
- Develop as needed a vision, strategy, and key objectives in line with the company goals and objectives.
- Serves as a liaison between all functional groups such as quality, engineering, business development, SCM, Test, customer engagement as required while keeping a strong alignment with between the U.S. and Germany branches.
- Enhance the role operations plays in the overall achievement of business objectives, including budget planning, CAPEX, purchasing, inventory levels etc.
- Support customer service representatives by providing reliable delivery information and participating in customer visits.
- Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
- Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Allocate and manage resources, including the assignment of tasks to production and quality team.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related field with a minimum of 10+ years of work experience with 6+ years of direct Managerial experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead effectively in a diverse environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in a complex manufacturing facility preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles & implementation.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
- Must be able to lift twenty-five pounds at times.
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
