Aethon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations Engineering to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Development and Execution of Production & Facility Engineering Strategies: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive production & facility engineering strategies to optimize field operations, maximize production efficiency, and minimize costs. Collaborate closely with the executive team and other departments to align production engineering strategies with overall business objectives.
- Oversight of Production and Facility Engineering: Oversee and provide technical guidance to a team of production and facility engineers, ensuring that all projects and initiatives are executed with precision and in compliance with industry regulations. Define clear goals and performance targets for the team, drive engineering excellence, regularly monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Monitor and analyze production rates, identifying opportunities for improvement and troubleshooting any production issues. Conduct well surveillance and monitoring to identify and mitigate risks. Utilize analytical tools for data interpretation, identifying trends, and making recommendations for operational changes.
- Production Efficiency and Enhancement: Continuously analyze and evaluate existing production practices, technologies, and equipment to identify areas for improvement and optimize production efficiency. Implement innovative solutions, processes, and technologies to enhance production rates, operational safety, and environmental sustainability.
- Risk Management and Safety: Develop and enforce robust safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and minimize risks associated with production operations. Implement risk management plans in collaboration with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department to proactively mitigate potential hazards.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure smooth operations and alignment of goals. Engage in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams (and the field) to identify, evaluate, and resolve production engineering challenges, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in petroleum engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of combined experience in production and facilities engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on natural gas exploration and production.
- In-depth knowledge of production and facility engineering principles, practices, and technologies, including reservoir engineering, artificial lift systems, surface facilities, and well intervention techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach to optimization and operational excellence.
- Proficiency in rate transient analysis, data analytics and project management.
- Deep understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices and regulations within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
