About the Job
We are seeking a driven Operations Director to champion operational excellence and process simplification initiatives while providing hands-on oversight for a growing manufacturing and assembly operation.
This person will support strategic objectives and lead day-to-day operating activities including production planning and assembly, supply chain and inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and ERP optimization.
Responsibilities include:
- Consolidate/streamline processes across production and supply chain.
- Foster an environment that generates world-class practices, processes, and systems and continuously identifies improvement opportunities.
- Mentor, lead, and develop a collaborative and action-oriented team with optimal employee engagement.
- Drive Lean Transformation via Gemba, 5S, Kaizen, etc., while ensuring safety, quality, OTD, and cost management, and supporting ongoing growth.
- Oversee optimization of ERP system and related software processes/use.
Requirements:
- 4-year degree in manufacturing engineering, business, or related field required. Lean/Six Sigma certification(s) a plus.
- 10+ years’ demonstrated success in Lean/Six Sigma implementation, organizational development, teambuilding, manufacturing management, and driving a culture of development and empowerment that engages and motivates employees in an assembled products/systems environment.
- Proven knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control/QMS, supply chain and inventory management, manufacturing cost accounting, material cost reduction, and capacity planning.
- Expert use of manufacturing related software (MRP, ERP, QMS, etc.) and MS Office.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot, correct, and optimize at material, process, and product levels.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high performance teams.
- Demonstrated project management skills (time management, goal setting, decision making, problem solving, resource allocation, and strategic planning).
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact at all organizational levels. Strong ethical foundation and highest level of personal and professional integrity.
- Action-oriented and proactive problem solver with the ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and provide clear decision-making leadership.
