About the Job
The Director of Operations and Compliance works closely with and reports directly to the Managing Partner on all operational, human resources and compliance matters. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical leader with significant experience in RIA operations & regulatory compliance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist Chief Compliance Officer with compliance oversight and ensuring adherence to regulatory policies and procedures with the support of Meridian’s outside consultants and counsel.
· Maintain accurate and timely compliance records and files.
· Evaluate workload and responsibilities of support staff to determine necessary assignment changes to maintain efficient workflows.
· Report and work with Managing Partner to evaluate operational efficiencies.
· Coordinate and oversee client billing and invoicing on a quarterly basis.
· Assist Managing Partner in bill payments, office maintenance and cleaning / security issues.
· Coordinate and oversee employee benefit plans (retirement, health insurance etc.).
· Coordinate and oversee new employee training and onboarding.
· Assist Managing Partner in coordinating and reviewing technology, cyber security, and communications.
· Collaborate with professional staff and Partners to maintain client reporting software and records.
SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:
· Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, the analysis and reporting of financial data, and investment advisory retail operations.
· Works independently, under minimal supervision and takes a strong sense of ownership in responsibilities.
· Handles stressful situations in a calm and professional manner, leads by example and projects a positive attitude.
· Continuously learns and adapts to an ever-changing industry, including financial products, services, rules and regulations.
· Communicates clearly and concisely in both verbal and written formats.
· Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
