The Director of Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of production and fulfillment processes.
This position is part of the Operations department in Bellmore, NY and will be located onsite.
You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this role, you will have to opportunity to:
- Lead, direct, and oversee all aspects of production and fulfillment operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Identify, design, and implement strategies to improve production processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- Manage and mentor the production management team, including supervisors and staff, to ensure effective teamwork, high performance, and accountability
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed across production and fulfillment
- Oversee the allocation of resources, including raw materials, finished goods, automated machinery, workstations, and labor, to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Work closely with the supply chain and procurement teams to maintain accurate inventory levels and streamline material flow.
- Uphold a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility.
- Regularly report on the team's production performance, efficiency metrics, and key performance indicators
- Participate in the development and execution of long-term strategies for facility growth, expansion, and process innovation.
- Address operational challenges and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to production.
- Develop KPIs for operations team related to inventory, staffing, fulfillment, and quality.
- Holding reports accountable to metrics
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- 10 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Exceptional problem-solving, data analysis, decision-making abilities, and resource management
- Proficiency with production planning, shift scheduling, and workplace enforcement
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Online Direct to Consumer Pharmaceuticals
- Pharmacy Operations
