POSITIONSUMMARY:We are seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to lead and oversee our Manufacturing division. The primary focus is on ensuring that all approved products are produced on schedule and meet quality standards and cost objectives.
MUSTHAVE:
·BA/BS in industrial, mechanical, or business administration, or a 4-year technical degree in a related discipline.
·10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in process-oriented operations and/or a related industry, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years managing a plant.
·Proven leadership skills with strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
·Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and developing effective action plans to drive improvement and results.
·Proficiency in financial management, including navigating business P&L and understanding budget discrepancies.
·Lean Manufacturing experience with a preference for candidates who are Certified Lean Manufacturing Practitioners from an accredited institution.
·Computer proficiency.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with company officers and senior staff on developing long- and short-term planning, policies, programs, and objectives.
- Develop and manage the manufacturing plan, establishing procedures to maintain high operational standards in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Optimize team member levels to meet annual budgetary goals while minimizing overhead and raw material costs.
- Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs to enhance the organization’s competitive position and profitability.
- Direct and monitor department managers to achieve manufacturing goals, ensuring adherence to established safety and operational procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between various managerial levels to communicate decisions, policies, and other relevant information.
- Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff, taking timely corrective action as necessary per company policy.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, consulting with the Human Resources Department as needed.
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and scrap, utilizing solid lean manufacturing principles.
- Direct and coordinate essential manufacturing programs, including training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, and security.
- Maintain constructive working relationships by exhibiting a professional manner in dealing with others.
- Stay current on information and technology affecting functional areas to foster innovation and ensure compliance.
- Provide customer support through on-site visits and consultations.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
