We’re looking for a highly experienced and strategic Director of Operational Risk Management in Raleigh, NC to join us in fulfilling our mission, while utilizing our values of excellence, improvement, and connection. In this role, you will ensure the robustness and continuity of our operations, particularly in the areas of business continuity, information technology, and cyber risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management within the property and casualty insurance industry and have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to mitigate operational risks. The role reports to the Enact Chief Risk Officer.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Risk Management
Develop and implement comprehensive operational risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Identify, assess, and prioritize operational risks across business units and functions.
Monitor and report on key risk indicators and risk events.
Collaborate with business units and functions to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Business Continuity
Design and oversee the execution of business continuity plans to ensure the organization can continue to operate during and after disruptive events.
Conduct regular business impact analyses and risk assessments to identify critical functions and dependencies.
Coordinate and lead business continuity training and simulation exercises.
Information Technology and Cyber Risk
Oversee the development and implementation of IT risk management strategies, including cybersecurity measures.
Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to monitor and respond to emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Model Risk Management
Develop and maintain a model risk management framework to ensure the accuracy and reliability of key business models.
Oversee the validation and testing of models used across the organization.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure models are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead and mentor a team of risk management professionals, fostering a culture of risk awareness and resilience across the organization.
Work closely with other departments, including IT, legal, compliance, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.
Represent the organization in industry forums and with regulatory bodies on matters related to operational risk and resilience.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational risk management, business continuity, or a related field within the property and casualty insurance industry.
Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, business continuity planning, cybersecurity best practices, and model risk management principles.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically and manage complex projects in a dynamic environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree preferred.
Relevant professional certifications in Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, or Business Continuity Planning designations are a plus.
