About the Job
Halo is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Omnichannel Retail to lead retail strategy across multiple current partners including Amazon, Walmart, Chewy and Best Buy and developing an expansion strategy for new retailers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of omni-retail operations and marketing, including merchandising, promotions, pay-per-click advertising, and other retail-specific strategies. The ideal candidate must be able to manage a retail media agency, build and maintain relationships with buyers at each retailer and work cross-functionally across Halo to support the end-to-end process from strategy to execution to tracking business results. This role is critical to driving overall Halo growth and will report to the CMO with a dotted line to the COO.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for existing retailer growth that includes maximizing merchandising opportunities, managing advertising spend, promotions, customer reviews, and other key sales levers.
- Create an omni retail partner expansion plan for implementation in 1H 2025.
- Oversee a retail marketing agency on strategy and execution of content and paid media, delivering continuous optimizations through testing and budget management to drive improvements in ROAS.
- Own the relationships with all retail buyers, staying current on their latest offerings and ensuring Halo is receiving maximum support including optimal product placement, merchandising, advertising strategies.
- Develop a retail marketing calendar working closely with the Halo marketing team on opportunities to be in sync with DTC activities and leveraging retail specific opportunities.
- Develop all retailer promotion plans including those that Halo DTC leads as well as major tentoles like Prime Days, Turkey 12, and Black Friday Cyber Monday.
- Lead creative needs for retailers, liaising with Halo marketing operations and creative and working cross-functionally to develop and execute.
- Continuous competitive awareness of other brands in the pet space, and regular checks across retailers on any new offerings.
- Evaluate and analyze marketing success across levers, providing strategic insights into what worked, what did not, and actionable areas for improvement.
- Manage overall retail marketing budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, product, logistics, customer service and IT to ensure a seamless customer journey across retailers.
- Partner with finance, operations, and supply chain to ensure retail platforms are seamlessly integrated on the back end to support the business.
- Forecasting sales across all retailers and coordinating with the logistics team on inventory at 3PL required to support partners.
- Manage and negotiate new contracts and renewals across all retailers to ensure Halo gets maximum value and support.
- Onboard with partners directly and/or via their partner portals and in turn support the new retailer on boarding across the Halo organization specifically in finance, operations, logistics and IT.
- Act as liaison/coordinator for customer service teams for ongoing inquiries, and maintain a knowledge base to leverage in training and issue resolution directly with channel partners
- 7-10 years experience at a retailer or DTC ecommerce company, including at least 2-3 years of experience working with Amazon.
- Knowledge of the eCommerce business model (i.e. Fulfillment/Shipping, Product Maintenance, Customer Service, User Experience, etc.)
- Experience using eCommerce applications and ERP are a plus
- Understanding of inventory Management best practices – 3PL, DTC and retail
- Passionate about Retail & eCommerce with an understanding of both the online and in-store retail landscape
- Experience with complex systems and processes that impact multiple business units
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with multiple clients/vendors/projects
