About You
- A Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license.
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) with a minimum of five years of experience in long-term care leadership.
- Proven track record of success in leading and motivating nursing teams.
- Strong clinical expertise and a commitment to quality care.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
About the Role
As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the nursing culture, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative environment among staff and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department.
- Oversee daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and administrative leadership to enhance patient care services.
- Conduct ongoing training programs to ensure staff competency and adherence to best practices in long-term care.
- Analyze nursing department performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Represent the nursing department in interdepartmental meetings and strategic planning initiatives.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, healthcare regulations, and advancements in nursing practice.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience, with at least 2 years in a Director of Nursing or similar managerial role.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Director of Nursing Services–Certified (DNS-CT)
- Certified Director of Nursing (CDONA)
- Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) or Nurse Executive, Advanced Certification (NEA-BC)
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate nursing teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
