Director of Nursing Operations
The Director of Nursing Operations is pivotal in bridging the gap between the Operations Center and clinical care. They supervise a medical operations team, which includes Registered Nurses (RNs), PRN staff, and Medical Data Entry personnel, all operating within an Emergency Operations/Command Center (EOC). Additionally, the Director is the primary liaison between the onsite medical staff, offsite healthcare providers, and definitive care facilities when required.

Director of Nursing Operations Responsibilities Include:
- Perform administrative duties as they relate to:
- Facility Staffing/scheduling
- Maintains the highest of standards of care
- Plans and oversees admission, nursing, and patient care process
- Coordinates with medical staff and other departments to ensure effiency of medical care
- Provide ongoing education classes for all nursing staff
- Develop SOPs as necessary
- Assign, schedule, and monitor RNs/PRN/Medical staffing to provide continuous coverage 24/7/365
- Oversees all electronic record keeping processes, ensuring all necessary documents are accurate and up to date
- Implement quality improvements
- Reporting
- Incident response
- Responsible for Mental Health “holds” paperwork, securing inpatient care delivery
- Responsible for securing urgent and non-urgent patient care transportation
- Oversees delivery of all vaccines, including but not limited to COVID
- Be prepared to work extended work schedules, including weekends, holidays, and shifts beyond 8-hours
- Shifts per week can vary from 4 to 7 days a week, depending on demand
- Complete reports daily
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Director of Nursing Operations Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s in nursing required, MS preferred
- five years of experience in nursing with increasing responsibility
- RN Licensure. Active, current, unrestricted.
- Experience supporting medical operations within an EOC
- Basic Life Support
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program
- Supervision experience for guidance/mentoring/scheduling
- Scheduling experience
- Process improvements in a health facility are preferred
- Ability to be favorably credentialed in the State of South Carolina CA
- The location of services may sometimes be in remote, austere, or challenging environments.
- Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment without physical limitations.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities
- Bilingual – English/Spanish OR English/Hindi preferred
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
