Director of Nursing Qualifications:

• Associates degree in nursing required, a bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• Current RN licensure
• 2 years ASC Nursing Management experience preferred.
• Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.
• Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification
• Successful completion of PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification

Director of Nursing Responsibilities:

Responsible for the management of patient care so that:

• Patient and family satisfaction is consistently monitored and appropriate corrective actions are taken when necessary.
• Quality of patient care is regularly evaluated and corrective action taken where deficiencies are noted through quality improvement and management processes.
• Direct patient care is performed when necessary.
• Nursing care is coordinated and integrated with other patient care services to provide a continuum of care for the patient in an efficient manner.
• Nursing staffing patterns are implemented and PTO policies are maintained.
• Policies and procedures consistent with the facility's philosophy are developed, implemented, revised, and reviewed on a regular basis.
• Performance of staff is consistently monitored and documented utilizing appropriate recognition or disciplinary action as necessary.
• Nursing personnel are assigned duties based on education, training, competencies, and job descriptions.
• Staff orientation and education is coordinated with the other areas of the facility.
• Minutes from all meeting are posted in a timely basis and maintained.
