Responsibilities:
As the Director of Nursing, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing all nursing operations, including patient care and staff management.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice and operational efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to nursing and healthcare.
- Managing resources, including budgeting and personnel, to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to identify and address patient care needs and concerns.
- Providing guidance and direction to nursing staff, including providing performance feedback and fostering professional development.
- Implementing and promoting evidence-based practices.
- Leading initiatives to improve patient care, such as quality improvement projects and the development of clinical guidelines.
- Working with multicultural groups and addressing their specific needs and concerns.
- Managing patients with chronic conditions and those requiring addiction treatment.
- Providing leadership in behavioral and mental health care.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree (will consider an associate's with experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership role, preferably as a Director of Nursing.
- Experience in corrections medicine, chronic conditions, addiction treatment, acute care, and behavioral health.
- Proven experience working with multicultural groups.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a nursing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of nursing operations, including patient care, staff management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in acute care settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly in high-stress situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
