Our client is searching for a Director of Operations for their Modular Data Center Manufacturing facility in Denver CO and will need to reside / relo to the nearby area. This position will require the prospective candidate to be onsite managing overall production / operations for their Modular Data Center Product that they provide to the Critical Facilities Industry. Prospect will require data center experience and MEP Construction experience to be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide leadership for the company's modular data center manufacturing operations
- Train and develop a high-performance Ops team
- Provide world-class Operations processes and procedures
- Implement / Create Ops programs such as: SOPs, MOPs, policies, practices, procedures, systems, and documentation
- Budgetary P/L responsibility along with experience with project costs, trend reports, monthly forecasts, etc. in conjunction with the finance team
- Review and monitor: billings and change orders, and negotiation of subcontractors, monitoring of labor hours and project costs, coordination with suppliers, etc.
- Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with subcontractors, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
- Coordinate timely completion of procurement procedures in conjunction with the purchasing team
- Responsible for the administration of the signed subcontract requirements with respect to conformance with agreements, contract documents, and change orders
- Coordinate ordering, processing, and delivery of materials and equipment with OEMs, vendors and purchasing.
- Responsible for initiating, overseeing, and verifying billings
- Verify that all materials invoiced and work billed has been delivered to manufacturing facility
- Ensure turnover and pre-production planning meetings are conducted
- Confirm bid matches contracted work and that an accurate budget is developed
- Ensure prompt review and processing of purchase orders, contract and subcontract agreements
- Provide training, mentoring, coaching and leadership to Operations team
- Ensure productivity tracking is implemented, updated and analyzed on a weekly basis
- Ensure that monthly cost projections are accurately and timely completed
- Maintain owner, customer, engineer and vendor relationships as required
- Continuously improve utilizing input from the team on improving procedures, productivity and efficiency
Qualifications:
- 5 -10+ years data center / critical facilities experience
- MEP (especially Electrical Power Systems Experience)
- Previous Modular data center construction
- Manufacturing Experience Required
- 10+ years of customer facing experience serving as a liaison with suppliers, customers, etc.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in school of hard knocks
- Experience in the manufacture and integration of mission critical facilities and modular / pre-fab data center product
- Manufacturing Lean Six Sigma training and experience a huge plus
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers
- Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels, internally and externally
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in a fast-paced hands-on business environment with responsibility for a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Results Oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure and to deliver against deadlines
- Ability to negotiate critical and controversial issues with Company leadership
- Ability to make authoritative decisions and recommendations having significant impact on the Company
- Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive programs and activities of importance
- Leader with exceptional attention to detail, admin skills and work ethic
- Capable of leading and influencing individuals, peers and executives
- Experience with ERP and project management systems; including SAP, Viewpoint and Bluebeam
- Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in the MS Office -Teams, Outlook, Excel, PPT, etc.
