The Director of Medical Student Education is responsible for developing engaging curriculum, integrating principles with the medical curriculum, overseeing education/ clinical care in all program-related patient care areas, and both supervising as well facilitating medical care to the medical students. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, to initiate tasks, and complete necessary tasks within prescribed timeframes. Dedicate a minimum of eight (8) hours per week (0.2 FTE) throughout the year to the Department of Psychiatry Medical Student Education Program. This will be separate from the time spent in direct clinical care (0.8 FTE).
Director of the Psychiatry Medical Student Program.
- a) The Director will:
- Be a member of the Crozer-Chester Medical Center Department of Psychiatry in good standing with active clinical privileges.
- Possess an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Be an active clinician with broad knowledge of, experience with, and commitment to psychiatry as a discipline and to resident education.
- Be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Director of Medical Education will:
- Oversee the planning and implementation of medical education programs.
- Collaborate with the medical staff for professional development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain accreditation standards.
- Monitor and strive to improve education quality.
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in a medical field.
- License to practice medicine in the state of Pennsylvania.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in medical education.
