About this Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Marketing to lead and execute our marketing and business development strategies. This role is crucial to building our firm"s brand presence and driving new business opportunities in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in professional services marketing, blending expertise in both digital and traditional marketing with a passion for community engagement and new business development. They will be responsible for developing strategies that increase visibility, drive client acquisition, and establish lasting relationships within the communities we serve.
What You"ll Do:ยท
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and position the firm as a leader in design.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities through strategic partnerships, networking, and community involvement.
- Manage the marketing and business development budget to maximize return on investment.
- Oversee digital marketing efforts, including website management, SEO, social media, email marketing, and content creation.
- Create engaging content such as case studies, blog posts, and thought leadership pieces to showcase the firm"s expertise.
- Analyze and report on digital metrics to optimize campaigns and enhance engagement and lead generation.
- Implement traditional marketing initiatives, including print advertising, event sponsorships, and direct mail campaigns.
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials.
- Coordinate with design teams to produce marketing collateral reflecting the firm"s vision and values.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry organizations, and community leaders.
- Represent the firm at industry events, networking gatherings, and community functions including Governing Boards, Donors, Faculty Councils, as well as in public meetings such as City Councils, Planning and Zoning Commissions, etc.
- Lead the proposal development process, including preparing responses to RFPs and RFQs and ensuring timely submission.
- Develop and execute innovative marketing and business development strategies aligned with the firm"s goals.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the architecture and design industry.
- Provide inspirational leadership and manage the activities of the marketing staff, developing their skills and talents.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor"s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master"s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of marketing experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in design or professional services.
- Proven experience in business development and community engagement, particularly within the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin markets.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and proficiency with relevant tools (e.g., SEO, Google Analytics, CRM software).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in design and presentation software (Adobe Creative Suite, lnDesign, PowerPoint) is a plus.
- Ability to build and sustain relationships with clients, community members, and industry professionals.
- Skilled in developing and executing strategies that align with business goals and market needs.
- Clear, persuasive communicator who can represent the firm"s brand with professionalism and impact.
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders effectively.
- Enthusiastic about engaging with the local community and understanding the regional market.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Passionate about design and architecture, with a keen understanding of industry trends and challenges.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to lead their own team while collaborating effectively with others with varied personality types.
- Exceptional communication and people management skills; the ability to build rapport and develop relationships easily and retains them.
- An eye for good design, as well as strong presentation skills to communicate ideas effectively to others.
