A renowned Fortune 500 company operating in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is seeking a Director of Maintenance for their 850k sq ft facility in Richmond, VA. This position will oversee the entire maintenance program. The company is global leader in manufacturing and distributing a diverse range of CPG products. Compensation: $185,000 - $200,000 + 17% bonus + LTI + Relocation Package for candidates moving. Benefits begin day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 20 days PTO, 401k with 6% match, 2024 merit increase review.
Job Description:
Oversee 4 Maintenance Managers (Facilities, Reliability, Execution, Automation) with a large indirect staff.
Union environment,
TPM experience required.
CPG, Food, Pharmaceutical, Automotive backgrounds are desirable.
Drive the site's Production and Utility assets' uptime performance by leading teams with urgency and focusing on executing preventative/predictive maintenance programs
Implement the Progressive Maintenance Strategy, optimizing cost-effective maintenance & reliability strategies in support of IL6S and plant business goals
Coordinate technical training opportunities for associates to enhance skills and knowledge
Manage production and facility/utility asset maintenance to maximize resource and funding efficiency for short- and long-term plans
Foster a proactive Preventative/Proactive-driven culture to optimize cost-effective maintenance & reliability for the line/plant
Support plant teams in reviewing/developing operating standards, line speeds, Global Efficiency (GE), etc., to identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities
Coach, mentor, and develop Maintenance leadership staff
Coordinate production equipment and facility maintenance activities, including capital projects, to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Ensure adherence to people safety and risk management regulations and procedures
Champion GE improvement initiatives and equipment reliability improvement plans
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Prioritize food safety systems and procedures in daily decision making
Collaborate with various stakeholders including Government Authorities Enforcement Agencies, Professional Associations, Business Schools/University, etc.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree / Similar Discipline
At least 5 years' experience in a similar Maintenance Leadership role
Previous experience with Proactive Maintenance and other TPM or related Integrated Lean Six Sigma reliability programs is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ability to interpret drawings, technical manuals, specifications, and regulations
Keen business acumen and a solid understanding of maintenance costs
Hands-on leadership and coaching abilities with a track record of empowering, developing & motivating teams
Effective problem resolution skills with a focus on the bigger picture
Ability to engage with Government Authorities Enforcement Agencies, Professional Associations, Business Schools/University, etc.
