Director, IT/SAP (Digital Transformation)
Mountain View, CA, with 40-50% travel (domestic and international)
$190k - $238k, plus a 25% minimum bonus (Individual performance-based + Company Growth)
Our client is a rapidly growing firm in the renewable energy sector - they were in start up mode and have operated in that sense for a while, but are growing to the point that they're needing to now operate in a more formalized large enterprise fashion.
They're an established enterprise undergoing rapid digital transformation, investing heavily in SAP to unify and modernize its extensive system landscape. With a strong focus on data-driven solutions, our client is expanding their IT team to support growth and improve enterprise-wide efficiency.
Position Overview:
The Director of IT/SAP will lead the company's SAP initiatives, managing a global team and overseeing a portfolio of digital transformation projects. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive SAP implementations that enhance business functions, specifically focusing on SAP Financial Modules and DataSphere. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in large-scale enterprise environments, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage both onshore and offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead SAP implementation and integration efforts, focusing on supply chain, finance, and data management. Develop strategies to leverage SAP as a competitive advantage in the market.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple digital transformation projects, including the deployment of SAP solutions and other enterprise applications, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Global Team Oversight: Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams across the U.S. and India. Provide direction for a team of 10-12 SAP developers and work collaboratively with international stakeholders.
- Solution Design and Best Practices: Develop and implement best practices for SAP and enterprise solution designs. Act as the primary SAP technical advisor and enforce high standards for functional and technical quality.
- Performance Optimization: Lead efforts to clear backlogs, improve system functionality, and ensure SAP solutions align with the business's rapid growth objectives.
Qualifications:
- Experience in SAP Transformation: 10+ years of experience leading large-scale SAP digital transformation projects in enterprise settings.
- Strong Tenure and Commitment: Demonstrated history of stable career tenure, avoiding frequent job changes, with deep involvement in strategic roles.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and confidently communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Global Management Experience: Proven track record managing onshore and offshore teams, including contractors and international staff, with a preference for experience in India.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in SAP Financials, DataSphere, and SAP Data Lake. Familiarity with Netsuite, Salesforce, Coupa, Concur, and related enterprise applications is a plus.
- Flexible and Travel-Ready: Willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily within the U.S. and to India, with availability for off-hours meetings across time zones.
Preferred Locations:
Candidates should ideally be based within 50 miles of Houston, San Francisco (Mountain View), Alpharetta, GA, or Arlington, VA.
