Director of Interior Design | Award-winning Boutique Firm - Bespoke Careers

An award-winning interior design firm is on the lookout for a Design Director. This is a new position. The role sits in the commercial team, primarily focusing on hospitality and multi-family projects. This is a leadership role, reporting directly to the Managing Principal, and is a new role as a result of growth and a healthy pipeline of work. As a Director, you will be responsible for raising the level of design on every project, mentoring junior/intermediate designers, and leading client meetings.

Who you are

• An interior designer/architect with over 10 years of experience
• Experience managing at least a couple of junior/intermediate designers
• A natural leader - empathetic and able to coach and develop junior team members
• Confident leading the front end of the design process - leading initial meetings with clients
• High levels of executive functioning - able to operate effectively in a team environment with tight deadlines
• A portfolio of design-driven, highly detailed, award-winning projects
• A high level of curiosity - an interest in developing and learning
• Technically savvy - high level of competence in Revit

What you'll be doing

• Leading and mentoring a team of 3 to 4 designers
• Networking with developers and other potential clients
• Leading the design of multi-family, commercial, and smaller commercial workplace projects
• Client relationship management
• Reporting to the Managing Principal
• Being part of the leadership team
