We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our team in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and innovative HR professional to lead and develop a comprehensive human resources strategy for our growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes, supporting business needs and ensuring the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives.
Responsibilities:
As the Director of Human Resources, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
2. Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
3. Managing the recruitment and selection process to ensure a competitive and diverse workforce.
4. Overseeing and managing a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
5. Developing and monitoring overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the company.
6. Overseeing and managing a comprehensive benefits administration program.
7. Ensuring legal compliance throughout human resource management.
8. Leading the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
9. Providing leadership for the human resources department in the areas of staff professional development, training, and policy development.
10. Overseeing the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree in Human Resource Management is preferred.
3. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is preferred.
4. Proven experience with benefits administration.
5. Extensive knowledge of HR systems and databases.
6. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
7. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR department staff members.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
9. Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
10. Full understanding of the way an organization operates to meet its objectives.
11. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
12. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
13. Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
