The Director of Human Resources directs the planning, development, implementation, and administration of all human resource and payroll operations. This person will be a business partner and develop policies and procedures to ensure a balanced approach to employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, equal employment opportunity as well as talent management. Provides direction and oversight to supportive services operations to ensure organizational standards are achieved with effective utilization of resources. Advise management in policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate at a strategic level with senior leadership to set direction of the organization and ensure required resources are available to function optimally and implement strategic plans.
Develop policies and procedures to create consistency throughout the organization as it relates to human resource practices.
Develop and manage a compensation and benefit program in order to compete in the recruitment and retention of the best talent that values and promotes diversity in our marketplace, while recognizing the financial impact on the organization.
Work through managers and supervisors to create a collaborative work environment and culture where people enjoy coming to work.
Oversee employee relation issues and work with managers to find appropriate resolution.
Develop, implement and manage programs to encourage employees to reach their full potential through effective talent management, training programs and effective performance assessments plans so that HPCB is assured a highly skilled workforce.
Develop, implement and manage programs in collaboration with leadership that aligns, rewards and encourages high performance.
Stay informed of upcoming federal and state labor law changes so that they are implemented properly.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state labor laws.
Work with leadership to ensure resources are utilized appropriately and within budgetary parameters.
Manage volunteer services as an extension of our workforce.
Qualifications:
Education / Certification
Bachelor of Science required with a concentration in Business Management or Human Resources
PHR certification preferred
Experience
Human Resource experience of at least 4-5 years in a senior level role
Business Management experience of at least 2-3 years
Hospice experience preferred
Experience with program development and implementation
