Position Overview:
The Director of Human Resources will oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes, playing a critical role in ensuring our company’s continued growth and success. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our business goals, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of the HRIS platform, growing and leading the HR team, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Location: Onsite - Bingham Farms, MI (Next Door Lending Headquarters)
Reports to: CEO
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
· Source, negotiate contractual terms, and manage HR vendors to ensure compliance with all HR practices, including but not limited to recruiting, background checks, record retention, and payroll/wage and hour requirements.
· Plan and execute buildout of HRIS platform and integration with current business systems.
· Scale and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to attract and retain top talent.
· In partnership with senior leaders, follow organizational design strategies to best utilize people resources and focus hiring efforts.
· Lead initiatives to foster employee engagement, company culture, and performance management.
· Facilitate and/or coordinate administration of harassment and discrimination training and compliance, in accordance with state and federal requirements.
· Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies across all states where we operate.
· Manage benefits administration, compensation strategies, and performance review processes.
· Partner with leadership on organizational development and employee relations, providing guidance and HR best practices.
· Conduct independent employee relations investigations, as applicable.
· Develop and execute on HR team strategy, ensuring organizational design, development and ongoing performance management of HR team member(s).
· Create and maintain HR metrics to monitor employee turnover, engagement, and satisfaction.
· Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace environment.
· Collaborate with management to develop learning and development programs for employees.
· Support and guide management on disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and legal HR matters.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
· 7+ years of progressive HR generalist experience
· Strong knowledge of multi-state employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
· Proven track record in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives.
· Experience in rapid growth environment, with a focus on scaling HR processes (hiring, onboarding, development)
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
· Demonstrated success in talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
Additional Pluses:
· PHR (or other nationally recognized HR certification) a plus
· Direct people leadership a plus
· Experience in the mortgage, lending, or financial services industry is strongly preferred.
• Base salary range: $80,000 to $100,000, with bonus opportunities.
