Job Title: Director of Human Resources
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing the company's human resources functions, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. The role focuses on strategic human resource planning to attract and retain top talent, positioning the company as an Employer of Choice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the organization’s HR functions.
- Translate business goals into HR strategic and operational plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Manage recruitment efforts to embrace diversity, foster employee development, and optimize performance.
- Continuously assess HR programs and practices against industry standards to ensure competitiveness.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to maintain consistency in employment policies across locations.
- Build strong relationships with management and staff to effectively address people-related issues.
- Develop, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures, including employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment prevention, and career development.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to HR team members.
- Oversee employee communication, safety programs, health initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
- Manage the HR department's budget and ensure financial efficiency.
- Lead and review investigations into employee complaints, misconduct, and concerns, providing appropriate solutions.
- Offer coaching and counseling to employees and management, advising on discipline or termination actions when needed.
- Drive performance management initiatives and ensure continuous improvement of HR processes and team effectiveness.
- Evaluate HR department structure and implement growth opportunities for team members.
- Design, deliver, and participate in training programs to enhance employee development and organizational success.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources.
- At least 3 years of experience managing HR functions in a company of similar or larger size.
- Experience working with multi-site, multi-state, multi-functional organizations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to address confidential employee issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to interact with management and employees in a consulting and counseling capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred).
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Senior Human Resources Professional certification or similar credentials preferred but not required.
Travel Requirement:
- 25%-30% travel to various office locations including, but not limited to, Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; White Plains, NY; and San Francisco, CA.
